Theresa Jeffries is a licensed clinical social worker oriented to working with clients through a client-centered humanistic approach that respects the human potential to heal from trauma and mental distress. Focusing on treating the whole client, she looks to understand the client’s unique life experience and create services suited to each client’s goals. With experience as a licensed clinician and professor for more than twenty years, she has worked in hospital social work, taught in correctional facilities, and directed supportive counseling programs for veterans, individuals with developmental disabilities, medically compromised groups (Cancer, HIV/AIDS), and senior citizens.
Theresa is trained in EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Community Reinforcement and Family Treatment (CRAFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Brief Solution Focused Therapy. She is experienced in working with trauma and PTSD, substance use disorders, life transitions, and loss. She specializes in working with first responders and their significant others, LGBTQ and gender diversity clients, adults with substance use and addiction, and marital or intimate relationship concerns.
