Clinical Staff
Sometimes a person needs some help in life, because life can at times be challenging. The struggle can be extreme for some people, but it doesn’t have to be in order to benefit from counseling. Many people think you only see a counselor when you’re in crisis. Counseling is a great avenue for self- improvement and to elevate mental, physical, and emotional health. As a mental health professional, I am invested in helping you come to a place of clarity about what is going on with you. I truly feel counseling is a collaboration between my client and myself. Everyone deserves a safe space to talk, and I provide that experience for my clients. One of the greatest benefits of counseling is talking about whatever is bothering you and literally leaving it in my office, so you don’t have to carry it with you. Talking is also only part of counseling. I have skills in modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and solution focused techniques that when utilized can take you from a place of feeling helpless to one of feeling empowered and hopeful.
I can assist you with a variety of issues including acute stress, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, grief/loss, divorce or other life changes.
I am constantly growing and evolving in my “tools.” Currently, I am going through a Certification to become a First Responder Specialist. First responders put their lives on the line every time they walk out of their homes as well as having high levels of stress due to the intensity of their jobs. First responders and their families deserve to have someone help them who understand their unique culture. I am drawn to this community and their families because my husband is a first responder, so I know firsthand the stress this occupation puts on the individual as well as the family. Give me a call today so we can get started working together to move you forward!
