Rise Up IOP Program
Jamie was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She earned her B.A. in Psychology, Family Studies, and Addiction Counseling at the University of New Mexico in 2019. She has worked in the addiction recovery field for the last four years, with experience in Out Patient, Residential Detox, and Methadone. Jamie specializes in offering trauma informed yoga, meditation, and Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) for those recovering from addiction, PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
Jamie believes that self-awareness, self-compassion, and self-love are integral in the process of healing and recovery. She states that, “Life is about learning, and becoming aware of what is most authentic to one’s true nature. That we must integrate the shadow self, and bring the unconscious, conscious. It’s about coming back home to self, and navigating from a place that honors body, mind & soul.”
Her kindness, warmth and unconditional positive regard are what create a safe and supportive space for learning and healing. Jamie inspires hope, opportunity, and confidence in those she works with, while promoting empowerment through education to increase the chances of a person’s ability to make the necessary changes in improving one’s circumstances to live a more healthy, meaningful, and fulfilling life.
Message from Jamie: I feel deeply grateful and excited to be part of the Odyssey Counseling and IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) Rise Up Teams. I believe that we will make a valuable and much needed impact on the community, and the women who will be receiving our services through the Rise Up IOP program.
